Summary

Lauren Stanley is a 36-year-old scriptwriter who lives in London with her long-time boyfriend, Paul. Paul is older than Lauren. He is divorced and has partial custody of his teenage son, Harry. Lauren enjoys spending time with her cat, Archie, and she is desperately trying to write a new script for a nineteenth century costume drama set to rival Downton Abbey. Lauren is trying to work on a scene that delicately yet clearly displays the complicated relationships between three characters.

Lauren cannot focus on her work because she is concerned about her own relationship. She is unable to write anything because she begins to analyze her relationship with Paul.
