Summary

Shea shuts herself up in her apartment for 3 days wallowing in her misery but on the 4th day she is shocked when Lucy knocks on her door. Lucy wants to know if Shea is angry with her and Shea lies and says she is not. Lucy wants to know if Shea has talked to the Coach about ending their relationship and Shea replies that she did. Lucy also knows that Shea has lost her job so she hugs Shea and bursts into tears. Lucy tells Shea that she has had a miscarriage and Shea tries to comfort her, telling Lucy that she can have other children.

In Chapter 44, Lucy flies to New York on Christmas Eve to spend the holiday with her father and Astrid. Christmas Day is pleasant and Shea deflects the expected questions about Ryan and her job as Astrid talks...
