Summary

In Chapter 10, Addison says he does not remember much about leaving Noel's house. Addison feels powerful with the gun in his possession and Digger makes it clear she feels the same. The go to the Dump where Addison discovers he is a terrible shot and that Digger is naturally good, though neither has ever fired a gun before. Addison says it “seems fair, somehow, that Digger was a better shot” (119). Addison and Digger leave drive toward Mike's house in Maryland. Addison says he feels a sudden need to know about the people who live in the houses he is passing.

They leave the highway, take Fork Lute Road, and approach Mike's house. Digger asks if they are doing the right thing. Addison counters, saying that Digger has the gun. They are both nervous. Addison walks up to Mike's house and hurls the brick...
