Summary

In Chapter 25 Edward sees that the shop is filled with many other dolls. A doll with a green dress is beside him and she is mean to him. She is not beside Edward for long as she is bought by a lady to give to her grandchild. Afterwards, Edward is on the shelf by himself for a long time. Edward silently watches as other dolls from other shelves come and go with the passing of time. During this time, Edward has come to prefer being alone and decides that he is better off being hopeless. Soon, another doll comes to join Edward on his shelf.

Edward gets a new shelf mate in Chapter 26. She is a doll who has been broken and wears a baby bonnet. She introduces herself to Edward and begins to have a conversation with him. The doll informs Edward...
