Chapter 4 Summary

The chapter begins with Sister checking on Georgie. She offers to place the rosebush in a special place at the front of the school or have Timothy and Georgie work on creating a garden. Georgie says okay, but has no intention of putting his rosebush in either of those places. Georgie develops a plan to go over to the Harper's house when Mrs. Harper is not there. As he approaches the house he meets Rosita, the Harper's housekeeper. Georgie's appearance startles her and she tells him to go out back and speak with Mr Collier, Mrs. Harper's father. Georgie asks if he can plant his rosebush in the garden. Mr. Collier is very kind and nice to Georgie but firmly insists that he cannot plant the rosebush there.
