Summary

The third and final scene, “Night,” begins outside the schoolroom where Sidi sits continuing to admire her photos in the magazine. Sadiku enters in a state of rapture, talking to herself, full of glee at the fact that Baroka has become impotent and his many wives are now free from having to have sex with him. Sadiku considers Baroka’s impotence to be a victory for women. Sadiku tells Sidi about Baroka’s impotence and invites her to join in her celebrations, which Sidi does.

Lakunle enters and the women mock him for being less than a man. Sidi comes up with a plan to go to Baroka’s palace and pretend she has changed her mind about marrying him, so that she may secretly laugh at him in the knowledge that he would be unable to have sex with her no matter how...
