Summary

Futh notices an attractive woman serving herself breakfast at the bar. She is using Angela's moisturizer and reading a book that Angela owned. He approaches her and says hello, but she ignores him. He says to her that she is wearing the same perfume as his wife and thumbs the silver lighthouse in his pocket. He leaves the hotel and goes into the woodland. He has not read his guidebook that he brought with him for the journey and feels that he is packing too much with him; he even wishes his lighthouse were not in his pockets pocking his groin. He fantasizes running away from his life and changing his appearance, wondering who would be the first to notice his absence (134).
