Chapters 29-34 Summary

In Chapter 29, the next week is tense for Ronnie and Will, not only because of the events of the recent past, but because it is nearly time for Will to go off to college and Ronnie to face the consequences of her shoplifting arrest. The tension is lifted somewhat when the nest of turtle eggs finally hatches. The hatching draws a big crowd and Ronnie is somewhat annoyed at having to share this moment, but is awed by the actions of the tiny turtles. Afterward, Ronnie, Jonah, Will, and Steve are talking about the experience when Steve has a coughing fit that leaves blood smeared on his face.
