As Willie continued to consider selling the newspaper, he thought back over the last nine years and realized that he had not left for more than four days. He believed the paper's success was due to the fact that he wrote a great deal about a town in which not much happened. He had also written human interest stories and the series on the churches. Now he was tired of writing and tired of Clanton. He didn't appreciate the way the town was changing and developing. He thought the town was most likely tired of him, too. He had begun spending more and more time writing editorials, arguing his causes. He promised to make his decision.....
