Summary

Chapter 25 marks a change in the plot as Avery confronts Faith in Sunset Retreat. Avery tells Faith to get out because of the gas leak, but Faith says she heard it was fixed. Avery thinks about the evidence of break-ins at the other homes. Faith had made copies of all the keys, which Avery always left in the mailboxes for renters. Avery mentions Parker and sees Faith's expression become angry - something to which she admits. She also confirms the affair with Parker and that he did not want to end things with her even though his parents forced him to bring Luce with him the previous summer. Avery thinks of how Parker craved "idolization" and was "living so many lives" (270).

Although Faith is mad at Parker, she is not destroying the homes because she is mad at him for being with Luce...
