Summary

Chapter 11 provides the contents of the Scribbly Island website. The site tells the story of Jack and Alice Munro and how they disappeared one day during the Great Depression. Visitors to the island are invited to tour the Munro house as well as have tea with Enigma and the Doughty sisters at Connie's Cafe. The island's only full time residents are Enigma, Connie Doughty, Rose Doughty, and Enigma's daughters, Margaret and Laura and their families.

In Chapter 12, it is Grace's first day alone with her newborn because Callum is returning to work after parental leave. They live in her mother, Laura's, home while she is traveling and their new home is under construction. Grace notes that Callum is so easy with the baby but she feels overwhelmed by the infant's unrelenting care. After Callum leaves, Grace sits staring at a carton of milk...
