Chapter 7 Summary

A snake by the name of Paul is extracted from Ronny Lawton's father's house. It had slid under the boards when it was small, but by now it is over eight feet long. Somehow, it survived under the floor by eating mice and rats. Ronny takes it out and stands in his front yard with the huge snake wrapped around him; Linda Carter is there with her camera crew to capture the footage. This only contributes to Ronny's image as a scary man. Rumors are going around that maybe Ronny had fed pieces of his father to the huge snake. The snake is given to the zoo for safekeeping.

Ed manages to get a couple great pictures of Ronny with the snake, and this makes the national papers again. Things are great at the paper for a little while, until it quiets down...
