Summary

In Chapter 16, Sarah wakes up to find the power still off. It returns a while later and she checks the internet to find that Laverty died. Sarah is relieved, realizing her crime may go unnoticed.

Sarah’s doorbell rings. She opens the door to Ms. Lim, who comes in to check on her. Lim tells her the power outages are out of her hands, but offers to send Sarah to stay in one of their vacation houses. Sarah declines. She says she has heard Sarah is close with the Kaewmak girl, meaning Mali. Ms. Lim says Mali is not her real name, and that she is a tenant, not an owner and not from a wealthy family. She says her lease is over and she has moved to London. Sarah is shocked.
