Book 3, Grace: Chapters 25-28 Summary

In Chapter 25, Walker's men plan to mutiny, leaving their injured colonel behind with the prisoners. However, before they can leave a large group of hadals attack. Ali manages to get away with some of the other expedition captives, but she cannot find Ike and goes in search of him. One by one, the surviving members of the expedition are killed along with most of the soldiers as the hadals overrun the trading center. Ike calls out for Ali, discovering she is still alive.

In Chapter 26, the young hadal girl Ike rescued has survived despite torture and rape at the hands of the soldiers. She stalks Ike for several days, finally attempting to attack. However, Ike gets the better of her and takes her captive. Ike forces the girl to show him the way to the center section...
