Summary

Chapter 21 is written from Juliet’s third-person perspective. It is Monday morning and she is alone in the house with Dorothy who went out earlier to get some groceries. Mark went to Newcastle and Harriet went to the city to see an art exhibition. On Sunday they had gone to church and eaten with Harriet’s second cousin and her husband. They have eaten with them before, but this time the meal was not pleasant because they had wanted news about the murder. Juliet and Dorothy are getting ready to eat with Vera arrives. She tells them that Connie is missing. Then Vera talks to Dorothy about the party at the barn. Next she talks to Juliet about Crispin’s payment of Lorna’s hospital bill. Before telling Vera what she knows, Juliet thinks that the family’s secret has now been revealed...
