Book 1, Pages 16-30 Summary

The doctors at the Arkham facility unveil Harvey Dent's new face and proclaim that he is fully recovered. They appear on the news and give an interview saying how they fixed him up and are ready to send him on his way. The anchor talks about the coin Dent had used to decide his victims' fates; with the flip of this coin they either lived or died. Commissioner Gordon calls it a mistake letting Dent out, while Bruce urges people to believe in Dent's recovery.

Bruce experiences a frightening flashback in a dream of his childhood where he has an accident and falls into a hole filled with bats.
