Summary

Chapter 26

Hans once again tries to get Greta to come with him on vacation, this time to America. Greta’s art work hasn’t been selling, and she’s been struggling to paint anything recently. Greta once again refuses, insisting that she has to take care of Lili. Both her brother and Hans argue that Lili should be the one to make that decision, pointing out that she’s become her own woman and has started to recover well from the surgery. Greta watches Lili traveling through the city, likely going to meet with Henrik.

Lili tells Henrik everything about her previous life. Henrik isn’t surprised, reminding her that he had tried to say he understood years ago. He asks Lili to marry him, and she agrees. Before they are married, she wants to return to Bolk to get a uterine...
