Summary

Chapter 13

Einar and Greta receive an invitation from Hans to live in Paris. They move and spend the next four years there. Greta has become a huge success thanks to her drawings of Lili. Einar is still very confused. He starts to visit a brothel owned by Jasmin-Carton. He goes just to see the women because he likes to study their bodies. He still goes out as Lili and treats her like a separate identity. When he notices how everyone at the brothel tries to avoid him, he realizes how chaotic his life has gotten. He decides if he hasn’t resolved everything with Lili in a year, he will kill himself. As he sits there on the park bench, he watches some children flying a kite with their nanny.
