Summary

In Chapter 6, Anne mistakes the cadaver dogs for tracking dogs. When Marco tells her, Anne and her parents are outraged that the police think she and Marco had a role in killing Cora. The dogs do not find anything. Rasbach suggests that Marco and Anne speak to the media in order to get information about Cora faster. Richard offers to provide a monetary reward for information about Cora’s whereabouts. Jennings calls Rasbach and leads him to a house on the street behind the Contis’ house. Jennings introduces Rasbach to Paula Dempsey, the owner of the house. Paula claims that she looked through her upstairs bathroom window and saw a car coming down the lane at 12:35 a.m. She noticed the car because its headlights were off.
