Chapter 2, The Journey and Punishment at the Inn Summary

As the Prince leaves with Beauty, the queen supplicates with him to leave their only child with them. The prince chastises the queen, reminding her that Beauty will be better for her service when she returns to them. The Prince throws Beauty over his shoulder and mounts his horse. At the next town, the people rush outdoors and to windows to see Sleeping Beauty and her savior. Arriving at the inn, the Prince informs his men they are only stopping to eat. The Prince then instructs his captain to tie Beauty to the inn sign so that the villagers may appraise her.

When Beauty hides her face from the crowd and appeals to the captain, he informs her that his majesty is very strict and begs her to follow the Prince's orders. When...
