Summary

In Chapter 22, at a twenty-four hour internet café, Alex composes an e-mail for Kevin to his man, Deavers. Alex, pretending to be Kevin, says he has taken care of the “little interrogator” and slams Deavers for the “thanks” of the attack at his place in Texas. She concludes by writing enough is enough. She then goes and buys powdered heroin from a drug dealer. Daniel is disturbed by this. By the evening, they have arrived at the lakeside cabin. Daniel must help the sleepy and exhausted Alex inside. When she awakens, Daniel is sleeping beside her. She does a quick check over the cabin. She then returns to cuddle with Daniel. She thinks about her feelings for him, and what problems this could present to her. Daniel tells her he loves her, but tells her she does not have to say anything back. Alex...
