Summary

In Chapter 15, Alex is amazed by the dinner Daniel has prepared. Daniel explains he took some culinary classes in college, and spends some of his free time perfecting his cooking abilities. Over dinner, Alex explains Barnaby was like the father she never had, and she loved him deeply. When Daniel moves to kiss her, Alex spins away prepared to fight. Daniel looks stunned and apologizes, saying he was maybe moving too fast. She tells him his attraction to her is valid and normal given his situation. Daniel scoffs at this, saying he knows what he feels. Alex even considers Daniel might be experiencing something similar to Stockholm Syndrome, but Daniel also dismisses this, and gently holds Alex in his arms. Alex cannot remember the last time she felt attracted to someone, or thought about it. Daniel, however, pulls back, thinking he has been misreading...
