Summary

In Chapter 12, class is dismissed for a teacher training day. The others have plans, made weeks earlier. Cassidy says she has plans for Ezra for the day. He agrees to pick her up at 8:30 the following morning. He arrives and Cassidy directs him to the University Town Center. It's a shopping center across from the University of California Eastwood campus. Cassidy has a list of several classes she plans for them to attend. She says they'll take notes to be used in their debate tournament.

They attend a British history class and Ezra finds it dull. Cassidy takes them to the wrong classroom next and they sit through a chemistry class. Ezra is captivated and suddenly realizes that college is going to be much different from high school. He instinctively knows that what he learns in college will be worthwhile. They get sandwiches...
