Prisoners of the Sun Summary

Richard and Jed return to the beach and Richard is disappointed by the lack of interest generated by their trip and by the lack of gratitude for his little gifts. Soon though, he loses interest in the trip himself, and settles back into the daily routine and trance-like state of living in paradise.

A few days later it rains heavily, and the group is hesitant about venturing out to do their chores. Sal confronts them and sends them all to work. Fishing is very difficult with the pouring rain, but Richard manages to kill a shark and is the hero of the hour. Bugs manages to irritate Richard by claiming that he killed a twelve-foot tiger shark once. He starts to tell the story, but Richard and his friends begin laughing and Bugs leaves.
