Percy Jackson

Percy is the main character in this book. When the book opens, he is 14 years old. He is a demigod, the son of Poseidon. With ADHD and dyslexia, Percy has a hard time in school. He isn't used to popularity, but he does have some close friends, which include the daughter of Athena and a satyr. He is romantically drawn to Annabelle, but he doesn't discuss it. The two of them are best friends. He is very loyal to his friends, and regularly puts his life on the line to help them out in tough situations. When Percy fights, he draws on the power of water to help him. He also uses his wits. Sleep is frequently elusive for Percy. He has visions and dreams that offer him insight into history as well as the goings-on in the Underworld. Percy takes these dreams and visions seriously.
