Todd Hewitt

Todd Hewitt is a young man who has just reached the age of adulthood. He is arrested by Prentiss when he comes into town with Viola, a girl from a group of settlers looking for a new place to live. Todd is first interrogated by Prentiss as he tries to learn Viola’s name. Then Todd is thrown into jail.

Because Prentiss thinks Todd would be a good influence on his son, Prentiss has Todd work as an overseer for the Spackle. Prentiss closely watches Todd and believes he would be the type of man who would be a good leader. For this reason, Prentiss lures Todd to join his side of the fight against the Answer.
