Summary

In Chapter 23, Viola’s job at the camp is helping Lee with the cooking. Even though she stays busy, she senses something big is about to happen that she has not yet been told about. She still feels that the way Mistress Coyle is fighting against Prentiss is not the right way to win the battle. Lee has told her that Mistress Coyle is afraid of Viola because she is smart and because she has leadership ability. As their conversation progresses, Viola asks him why he is fighting for the Answer. She learns that his sister and mother had been taken prisoner. Lee hoped to find them and rescue them. Since Viola was not allowed to go on the missions, he promised to look for Todd in the same way he looked for his mother and sister.
