Chapters 56 - Summary

Denny's felony trial begins in Chapter 56. Each morning of the trial, Mike comes to the apartment and leaves with Denny. Tony stays with Enzo. They take walks. Sometimes Tony stops at a coffee shop to check his e-mail.

The prosecution opens it case and things look bleak as witness after witness swears to seeing Denny maneuvering to be close to Annika. Denny's mood becomes heavy and dark but he never gives Enzo any indication that he is giving up the fight.

Tony gets the call while he and Enzo are at the coffee shop. The case against Denny is dismissed. The prosecution did not have any actual evidence of the alleged attack and Annika recants her testimony.

Enzo dreams dreams of having a device similar to that used by Stephen Hawking which would make it possible for Enzo to talk.
