Summary

In “Canada Geese,” Green elaborates upon the proliferation of the Canada Goose in urban centers across North America, noting that its ideal environment is, in fact, the one humans have crafted. He gives the geese two stars, though, because they are aggressive. In “Teddy Bears,” Green recounts President Roosevelt’s encounter with a bear which led to toy makers creating a soft toy version of the bear, naming him ‘Teddy’ after the President. However, given that its origin story misses the fact that Roosevelt then ordered the bear killed, Green only gives teddy bears two and a half stars. In “The Hall of Presidents,” Green reflects on this feature at DisneyWorld’s parks and how exclusionary it now feels to him. He calls it ‘plastic’ and gives it a mere two stars.
