Chapter 4 Summary

Haven listens to Mom pour her heart out to Lydia about Dad and other things she will never share with her daughters. Mom has Lydia, Ashley has Lewis, and Haven is alone on Thursday nights. Mom had gone to Las Vegas with Lydia's travel club, the Old-Timers, and is considering visiting Europe with them two weeks after Ashley's wedding but worries about leaving Haven alone. Ashley's wedding continues to consume their lives, promising disaster at any moment, and Mom's notes are like clues to allow Haven to share her concerns since she is only able to share Mom's concerns at a distance without Mom knowing. With Carol planning to be a bridesmaid again, Ashley is now concerned about her first sit-down dinner with Lewis's parents, and she asks Haven's advice about what to wear, wanting to send the right message so the Warshers...
