Summary

Meg steps closer to the red slash painted on the wall to examine it. It is still dripping. It looks like it was done with a paintbrush. It reminds her of the countdown from the video, the numbers slashed with animated red lines as they counted down. They go to call the police, but the phones are out because of the power outage due to the storm. There is no cell phone reception either. There is tension between Kumiko and Vivian, the latter of whom is intensely controlling and alienating everyone. She doesn't trust that the phones are out and has to confirm these facts herself. Suddenly, Meg remembers a coiled yellow ether-net chord she noticed earlier. She runs upstairs to get her laptop with the hopes of getting an internet connection.
