Chapter 10 Summary

The next morning, Tom calls and tells Catherine he had to put his car in the shop. Tom wants to know if he can get a ride to work with her. Catherine agrees. Tom tells her his car should be ready by that afternoon, at least he hopes so because he has a date that night. Catherine suspect that his date is with Leila. At work, everything seems quiet until Catherine remembers she needs a picture for her piece on the Barnes' baby's birthday. Just as she is about to call the Barnes home, Martin walks in. Martin tells Catherine how Galton came to his house asking if he had been where Catherine said he was Saturday afternoon. Martin assures her that he admitted he was on the road that morning.
