Book One, Part Six, Chapters 34-40 Summary

In Chapter 34, Roland and Macklin ambush Sheila Fontana and Rudy just outside the Salt Lake settlement. Sheila has a stash of drugs. They explain they are known as "dirtwarts" by the people in the camp. Sheila decides staying with Roland and Macklin is the safest thing to do and agrees to have sex with them.

Chapter 35 returns to the cabin, where Sister is worried about Artie's injuries. She uses the ring to dream walk again and sees Swan's tarot card reading. She decides to tell Paul about all their experiences with the ring. Paul's plan after the batteries and food run out is to kill all of them. Sister tries to convince him they must move on because the kerosene is almost gone.
