Summary

In “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” Darren proposes a beach outing and tells Kirby to meet him at Tony’s Market. Instead of meeting him there, Kirby goes to his house. She cannot mistake the shock she sees in his face when he comes downstairs. Darren announces to his family that he and Kirby are meeting people at Lobsterville Beach. The judge, Darren’s father, warns them to go before his mother gets home.

Darren and Kirby swim, and then share a few beers and a marijuana cigarette before Darren takes her to a secluded place behind a boulder and begins kissing her.
