Alix Chamberlain aka Alex Murphy

Alix Chamberlain, who was known up until she went to college as Alex Murphy, is the mother of Briar and Catherine Chamberlain. She is the wife of Peter Chamberlain. Alix is a white woman who has branded herself as a feminist who supports equality. She hopes to get a spot working in Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Alix is overly concerned with what others think of her. She worries that people, particularly Emira, and those with the Clinton campaign, will hear about Peter’s supposed racist comment on the news and will think that the family is racist. She worries after Emira is accosted at Market Depot that Emira will quit her job. When she learns that Emira and Kelley are dating, she worries about what Kelley might have told Emira about her.
