Pages 51-76 Summary

Marco pilots the ship around the flat planet so they can examine it more closely. Kin begins wondering aloud how the planet works, especially questioning the waterfall that rushes off the edge of the planet. Kin theorizes that there is a large machine at work on the planet that controls the movement of the water as well as returning the water to the sea in some way. They see a hole in the planet's atmosphere and Marco pilots the ship through. As they pass over the waterfall, they feel an impact. Kin goes outside and finds the remnants of a ship and cloth with human tissue on it.
