Summary

The memorial service for Jane was held. It was a simple service where her friends got up and said things about her and her life and how she had helped people. Ruth sang ‘What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor?’ as this was the only song Jane used to teach her students. The friends discussed that even the carols she taught were to that tune. After the mass, Gamache told Ruth he admired her poetry and Clara interrupted them when she overheard Gamache say that Jane’s last will was with Stickley. Clara mentioned that she believed the will was updated with a woman in her exercise class, Solange Frenette. Gamache told her to call her as soon as she could.
