Act III, Scene 1 Summary

The setting is the living room at the Footlights Club the following October on a Sunday morning.

The girls are sitting around the room reading Sunday newspapers and eating breakfast rolls. Terry is still asleep. She's been working a lot of hours as a sales clerk. Her old boyfriend, Keith, is coming back. But she dines with Kingsley quite often. Supposedly Kingsley is just interested in her career. Jean will also be arriving in New York to star in a play. Big Mary comments that she landed the role even though she can't act. Big Mary looks out the window and spots Jean getting out of a car. The girls all rush to the front door. Two new girls, Tony and Ellen, want to make sure they are introduced to her.
