Summary and Analysis for Chapters 18-23 Summary

Chapter 18 consists of two sentences. Lani is questioning how she can betray the girl who saved her life.

In Chapter 19, when the girls were 10, Erin's mom was driving them back from snowboard camp when the weather became nasty. Erin's mom wanted to pull over, but they couldn't see to pull over. The car hydroplaned and they slipped into the lake. Erin's mom was unconscious , and the girls were trapped. Lani knew they were drowning, but Erin screamed at her to get in the back. They all lived through the ordeal.
