Summary

In Chapter 7: Matthias, he dreams of chasing and loving Nina, but hates himself and her for it. When he realizes she is actually there, he attacks her, calling her a traitor and telling her to beg for her life. However, it is clear he loved her in the past. Kaz hits him in the shoulder and says they are breaking Matthias out. Screaming echoes from outside as the animal cages are opened by Jesper. When Kaz offers his hand, Matthias hesitates but eventually agrees. They head to the arena and Inej kills a desert lizard. Kaz leads them to a tunnel deeper underground where they meet Jesper with a boat. Matthias plans how to defeat the group and kill Nina. But when he attacks Inej, she trips him. Kaz tells Nina to knock Matthias out.
