Summary

Chapter 13 – Simon describes being completely distracted in class by thoughts of Blue, his thoughts torn between following up the clues Blue has given him about his identity, and leaving those clues alone so that Blue will still feel safe. Later at lunch, Martin interrupts a conversation between Simon and Abby, hinting that he (Martin) is going to out Simon if he does not do something to get him (Martin) closer to Abby. Seething with resentment, Simon makes arrangements to help the two of them with their lines for the musical that night. During their session with lines, which takes place at a favorite hangout, Martin asks a lot of awkward questions of Abby; Abby has trouble remembering her lines; and the two of them start to get along, at least as friends. Simon, in fact, almost starts to like Martin.
