Summary

Chapter 27

Sia goes to visit Carol at her new apartment. Carol shares a bathroom and kitchen with others, but she is obviously proud of her small room. She says that she feels safe there and is happy. She asks Sia about her own life, and Sia talks about the events of the past few days, including her work for the earthquake victims. They part when Carol announces she has to go to work.

Sia spends the afternoon before the Oscars preparing, but she’s very nervous. Raymond leaves early, saying he is meeting a screenwriter about a promising script.
