Section 11: Chapters 25-27 Summary

Realizing that the horned figure is just Lady Corongi wearing a hat in Chapter 25, Seraphina is led to a room where Princess Dionne waits. Demanding the truth, Dionne cuts Seraphina's arm, furious when her blood does not indicate that she is a dragon as Lady Corongi's source had reported. Dame Okra Carmine arrives, fortunately, and rescues Seraphina. After Princess Dionne and Lady Corongi hastily exit, Glisselda arrives. Dame Okra asks Glisselda to have someone tend Seraphina's arm, and after stitches are applied, Glisselda is furious to learn that vigilantes had tested her friend's blood. Seraphina panics when Glisselda notices her scales, but she quickly agrees to Glisselda's suggestion that the silver band is a saint's burthen. Shortly after, Dame Okra arrives to convey Seraphina to Papa who will get her to safety.
