Cherrywood Mountain House

Strauss family house/hotel is located halfway between Albany and New York City, northwest of Mohonk and Minnewaska by ten miles. Actually two hotels, each one either side of shale cliffs that were three hundred feet high and separated by a black lake. Cherrywoods Mountain House is a collective 550 rooms built over a period of sixty years time and using several conflicting styles of architecture. Known by the rich and famous alike for over two thousand acres of grounds that include forests, gardens, grape arbors and fruit orchards, the hotel is where the Strauss family is sequestered after the initial attack.
