Chapter 4, Late March 2000, Salem Falls, New Hampshire Summary
Jack is living with Addie's father, Roy. Roy works at the register in the diner, since he still refuses to work in the kitchen. Jack notices that Stuart Hollings, one of the regulars, hasn't walked his dog or come into the diner as usual. Addie tries to call Stuart but he doesn't answer, so she goes to his house. She finds him lying on the floor and calls 911. When she returns to the diner, she tells everyone Stuart had a stroke. Starshine is the owner of the Wiccan Read. Gillian, Whitney, Chelsea and Meg frequent the store. The girls come in to buy supplies for a spell to heal Stuart. At Stuart's farm, Jack shows Addie how to milk a cow. He tells her they will trade one truth for another, and tells her he used to be a teacher and soccer coach at a girl's school. Jack asks...
