Chapters 11-14 Summary

Christine accepts Alex's offer for an escort on her walk home, but on the way she requests space from him and their relationship. She had hoped that it wouldn't bother her when he returned to a high profile murder case, but she has discovered that it is bothering her a lot. Previously, Alex had been involved in a murder case and the criminal had turned his attention to Christine. He eventually kidnapped her. Although she has been home for almost a year, she constantly fears for her safety as well as the safety of Alex and their son. She is plagued by nightmares, and subsequently their relationship is strained. They have tried to work through these difficulties, but Christine realizes she can't make it work and ends their relationship. Since he couldn't change Christine's mind, Alex throws himself into his work...
