Chapter 20 Summary and Analysis

Chapter 20, p. 290—Richard is disappointed that despite terrorist attacks against the U.S.A., Seal Team Six is not being sent to fight terrorists. They rehearse missions on the Washington DC subway when the system is closed down. They play war games with the Germans and others. Seal Team Six spends six months in Egypt trying to train the Egyptian counterterrorist team. The results are poor because of Egypt's ingrained caste system, which lets the officers enslave the privates and not fight. Richard tries beating up the Egyptian officers until he is stopped by the U.S. Embassy. Richard's favorite international partner is the German GSG-9, headed by Brigadier General Wegener.
