Summary

Chapter 13 opens with Clint angrily bursting out at Becca, asking her what she knows and why she is there. Becca also feels angry in that moment. Jackie explains that Clint's anger is caused by his morphine doses and also by knowing that he is not in control at the moment. After talking with Jackie about why she chooses to stay with Clint, Becca goes into town and meets up with Parker. Before doing so, she craves a vanilla milkshake, which she enjoyed getting in her childhood. They catch up, and Parker lets her know that he is a homicide detective with the state police. He started off in patrol but worked his way up. This reminds Becca of a time in her childhood when two cops with guns in their holsters came to the house to speak with her father.
