Good versus Evil

The primary theme throughout the entire novel is that of good versus evil. Biblical symbolism can be found throughout the book. Schuyler has an inner struggle with good versus evil and so does each of the characters that are involved in the story.

Schuyler struggles with the good and evil of taking Oliver as her familiar. She also struggles with her tryst with Jack Force, even though Jack is supposed to be bonded to Mimi. The Blue Bloods are in a constant struggle against their enemies, the Silver Bloods. In addition, it is also a challenge to keep humans, or Red Bloods, from finding out about the Blue Blood society.
