Chapters 39 and 40 Summary

Chapter 39. Mimi gets ready for the dinner party. When she arrives at the Almeida mansion, Mimi realizes that only Conclave members are attending the dinner, not all of the Elders and other Blue Bloods. While Mimi is talking to the Chief Warden, he is stabbed in the back. Mimi realizes that Sophia Dupont is dead as well. When the lights go out, Mimi realizes it is a trap to kill the Conclave members. Mimi assumes it is an attack by the Silver Bloods. Mimi notices that as the Silver Bloods kill each Conclave member, the Silver Blood takes on the form of their victim. As Mimi tries to escape, Nan Cutler tries to stop her.
